UPDATE 2022 (JUNE 2022)
We welcomed the return of in person meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 22nd June 2022. An opportunity for introductions, a review of NDPE delivery progress, discussions on the next steps and the launch of the IRF promotional video.
Update H1 2021 (June 2021)
We have summarised main progress updates from 2020 and planning for IRF developments in 2021 in the following document. You can read more about the ambitions of the IRF AWG in 2021 and go through a timeline of progress between 2018 and 2021.
Update 07 (March 2020)
It’s 2020 and we’ve come a long way in the last two years in developing a tool to systematically understand and report on progress with implementing NDPE commitments in palm oil. This year, companies and other stakeholders will need to work together to roll out the reporting and use the reports to drive progress. This update will review what we’ve achieved since the inception of the IRF, work underway, and where we need to go collectively in 2020.
Update 06 (September 2019)
There are now more than 30 companies from every stage in the supply chain engaged with the development and use of the NDPE Implementation Reporting Framework. This document provides an update on the most recent developments on the IRF tools. It also covers the adoption of the Implementation Reporting Framework as the tool’s official name.
Update 05 (June 2019)
This update presents the revised No Deforestation and No Peat allocation criteria, updates on the ongoing work on no exploitation criteria and explains how allocation criteria, which aim to capture the wide range of activities by multiple actors which are underway to support delivery of NDPE commitments, will be applied in companies’ supply bases.
Update 04 (March 2019)
This update outlines the objective for Phase 2: scaling up implementation, further developing and improving the methodology in the process, to prepare for routine use of NDPE Implementation Framework Volume Profiles in Phase 3. Proforest and Earthworm Foundation (formerly TFT) are coordinating Phase 2, supported by a core working group of companies.
Update 03 (November 2018)
This update summarises the results of the first ‘proof of concept’ pilot studies and the outcomes of discussions at workshops convened by PepsiCo and Cargill at the RSPO RT in Sabah together with planned next steps.
Three pilot case studies were undertaken, looking at refineries in Southeast Asia buying directly from mills, a refinery in Europe buying from mills and aggregators and a trader in Europe to explore the pros and cons of implementing the approach further downstream.
Update 01 (July 2018)
In June 2018 a group of companies who all use palm oil agreed to trial an approach that aims to accelerate delivery of responsible sourcing commitments by building greater implementation transparency. The approach allows monitoring and reporting on progress in delivering NDPE compliant volumes through an Implementation Framework. This is the first update for participating companies and includes (a) a reminder of what the Implementation Framework is and (b) an outline of plans for the coming months.
